Yevgeny Prigozhin, often known as "the walking dead man," was warned to be on the lookout for in Russia at the end of June after leading a disobedient march in Moscow.


In recent remarks about the attitude of a boss, CIA Director William Burns observed, "If I were Prigozhin, I wouldn't fire the person who tastes my food.


"The final chapter of Russia's last "Special Military Campaign" would be written if it ever emerged that the mid-air destruction of the jet carrying Yevgeny Prigozhin over Moscow was a premeditated act by the Kremlin, a chilling retaliation with cold-blooded repercussions.



Prigozhin went from being a former criminal, chef, and hot dog dealer to being the head of the Wagner Mercenary Group, which has a large following.


Many would have seen the joyful reception he received from the populace when he came in Rostov-on-Don during his brief revolt just two months earlier.


The Russian military's top brass, which commanders Prigozhin frequently openly chastised, was one of his many enemies in Moscow, though.


On June 23, he organized the march toward Moscow, which turned out to be a disastrous error for President Putin.



Prigozhin had incited the Kremlin's ire by publicly denouncing Russia's stated arguments for the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, despite the fact that he did not mention Putin by name at the time.


He charged that Russians had been duped and had lost their sons in the conflict in Ukraine.



Putin's video speech that day was scathing since it was a careless action.


He described Prigozhin's march into Moscow as a betrayal and a stabbing.
